ABOUT US

The Development would allow 5 docks per lot, along Edwards Creek estuary.   It would cause increased traffic along unkempt rural roads, and add additional pupils to already overcrowded classrooms.

Join us in keeping Urban Development where it belongs, in its designated planning zones, and away from what little pristine area remains in Duval county.

OUR BRANCHES

During a community meeting with the Developer, neighbors shared concerms for a development of this density including unsafe roadways, overcrowded classrooms, and ecological impact. The Developer responded, "That's the city's responsibility, not mine," and thus the title, "We Are The City" was spawned.

In only a couple of weeks, "We Are the City Oceanway" has garnered more than 900 followers via social media and in excess of 600 petition signatures.

We are a group of concerned citizens dedicated to stopping the proliferation of LeapFrog development Urban Sprawl in our rural area.

The proposed plan will require a change in zoning from Rural Residential to Planned Unit development (PUD).  It will consist of 395 acres, and 790 homes.  The property is surrounded by Rural Residential homes averaging 5 acres in size, Agricultural and Preservation Lands. The average proposed home site in the Development would be .172 acres.
